GOLDEN G
RANCH ON TV - 3 TIMES
|
On Novemvber
11th and 12th of 2004, Eddie Brochin (Archer Ed) and Nicole Wheeler
(Fair Weather Wheeler), came to the Golden G Ranch to film a hunting
show for the "Outdoors with Eddie Brochin" show. In the first
episode, that aired on Direct TV's channell 321, World Harvest
Television, the hunters were after an aoudad and a sika. During the
first part of the show, Archer ED spends a very challenging day on a
spot and stalk hunt with Golden G Ranch guide Scott Edwards, after a
male aoudad. The show which is entitled "On The Run" captures a
magnificent , on the run, archery shot, by Arhcer Ed, himself.
Though much time and effort was put in by Nicole Wheeler and guide
Scott Edwards on day two, the sika buck was able to escape harvest.
Then on Janurary 10th and 11th of 2005, Archer Ed returns to the
Golden G Ranch with another HTS staff member, Matt Wing for a show
entitled "Southern Connections". In this episode the HTS pro staff
members are after the sika (the one missed in the previous show) and
a scimitar horned oryx. Golden G Ranch guide Joe Reyes and Matt Wing
use a different approach this time on the sika. They set up in a bow
blind near a huge oak tree in a know animal pathway. This proves to
be a successful idea as the sika buck is harvested right before dust
on a great archery shot my Matt Wing. The next day was spent on a
spot and stalk on the Golden G Ranch for a 40 inch scimatar by
Archer Ed and guide Scott Edwards. Though several good shots
were taken, lady luck was on the side of the scimitar on that day
and no harvest was made.
The third show shot on the Golden G Ranch took place on May 30,
2005. In this episode Archer Ed brings along a special guest for two
action packed wild hog hunts. The show which has yet to be named or
air, shows some really fantastic archery skills on a live charging
hog. Golden G Ranch guide Robert Rios does a fantastic job in the
spot and stalk methond of these two trophy hogs. The show has a
great ending with an almost "hunt or be hunted" atmosphere.
In all three trips, meals and lodiging were provided at the Golden G
Ranch lodge. The guests enjoyed beef and chicken fajitas, axis
sausage and aoudad steaks as part of their meals. Breakfast each
morning included local home made tamales and breakfast tacos. The
HTS staff members and guest relaxed and swam on the lodge patio and
in the beautiful pool. They also stayed in the spacious and well
equipped bedrooms of the lodge.
All shows have been and will be aired on Direct TV's channel 321,
World Harvest Television (WHT). Future airings will be listed, with
possibilities of the shows being moved to The Mens Channnel or The
Outdoor Channel
